Browns in Meadow Street will order any Wyvern uniform you require. They are not holding spare stock. Please can you go into the shop and order any uniform items you need by 31 July 2010 to ensure delivery before the start of term. The Local Authority advises parents to keep receipts for Wyvern sweatshirts and polo shirts. They will refund if Wyvern transfers to Hans Price Academy during the school year.

HANS PRICE ACADEMY

Due to the change of Government and the new priorities for Academy funding announced recently, we are disappointed to announce that there will be a delay in opening the new Hans Price Academy. Wyvern Community School will, therefore, remain open as a Local Authority school in September 2010. The Local Authority and Cabot Learning Foundation, who are the sponsors of the proposed Academy, remain committed to the future of Wyvern as an Academy.

The immediate priority is to ensure that the students of Wyvern Community School continue to receive a high quality education. Mrs J Mee will continue to lead the school as Acting Headteacher next year. The current Wyvern Community School uniform will remain in place. The term will start on Thursday, 2 September (Wednesday, 1 September will be a Professional Development Day when the school will be closed to students). Year 7 students must arrive at school at 8.30 am, and all other Year groups must arrive at 11.00 am ready for tutor period at 11.20 am.
